5 Things You Need To Know In Pop Culture Today! (Aug. 24)

Here's a rundown of what's in the Pop Culture news this morning, corralled and curated for your viewing pleasure!

Ryan Lochte Has Basically Ruined His Entire Life

CBS News on Twitter

JUST IN: @RalphLauren now says it will not renew @RyanLochte's sponsorship deal http://cbsn.ws/2bJ59bo pic.twitter.com/3GegTDAMKX

Apparently Ryan is going to re-evaluate everything in his life according to E!, but at the same time - he's pretty much shattered the trust of everyone after his Rio web of lies. Aside from losing all of his endorsements, he's "taking responsibility for his actions," so he says to Matt Lauer, but you have to wonder in certain situations if this is a case of high profile privilege. Many also believe that he should go to jail or have legal responsibilities after basically filing a fake police report. More to follow on that, we're sure.

Ariana Grande and Mac Miller, eh?

Rap-Up on Twitter

Ariana Grande and Mac Miller were spotted kissing while on a dinner date in L.A. http://goo.gl/MbL6xi pic.twitter.com/DQsEPVlLT2

"They like each other, but Ariana just got out of a relationship so no titles are being thrown around yet between the two," says E!, but when interviewed by E's Sibley Scoles during the launch of her new MAC Cosmetics Viva Glam Lipstick, and asked about rapper Mac Miller, Ariana deflects by saying "I love my MAC lipstick. This is the only Mac I'm here to talk about today, girl!" Well played, Grande. Well played. In other news, Mac Miller looks like an adorable kisser.

You spoke, we listened: #mnwild will change its goal song to Prince's #LetsGoCrazy → http://ow.ly/dzyp303vjzQ pic.twitter.com/rMSy2mxFUd

In honor of Prince, the Wild will change their team goal song to his hit "Let's Go Crazy." For those who aren't hockey buffs, there are a lot of teams that have special goal songs (don't even get us started on Chicago Blackhawks and The Fratellis "Chelsea Dagger). The official debut will be September 27 when the Wild takes on the Colorado Avalanche.

Lady Gaga Surpasses Metallica and Shawn Mendes For Top Trending Track On Billboard... Before Even Releasing ANYTHING

Lady Gaga on Twitter

LADYGAGA NEW SINGLE PERFECT ILLUSION SEPTEMBER http://www.ladygaga.com #PerfectIllusion #LG5

Talk about some insane star power! All Gaga had to do was announce that she had a new track coming out in September, and fans lost it, and has made it chart at #1 for Billboard before even hearing a single syllable, according to Billboard. Poor Metallica and Shawn Mendes. This is Mother Monster's world, you just live in it.

Kanye Goes On A Rant... But For A Decent Reason This Time!

Yeezy was actually going to defense of Frank Ocean's newest album (which we still don't know if it's called 'Blond' or 'Blonde'). He was calling to major radio to play Frank Ocean out of all things - as Frank is an independent/underground artist. As time goes on, we see Kanye supporting more artists in this way, like his love for Chicago Native Chance The Rapper. See his tweets below:

If anyone at radio really loves music ... Come together and pick your favorite Frank Ocean song and play it at least 10 times a day.

KANYE WEST on Twitter

Me and Drake both listen to Frank. Radio has to support amazing artists.

Ask yourself Why did you love music in the first place and what can you do to add to the story.

Power to the people. Power to the artist. Empower the artist and create a more inspired world.

See, Ye is a great guy. But nobody ever talks about the nice things he does, only the crazy things. #KanyeApologist
