TIME Magazine has compiled their new list of the "100 Most Influential People"! See what categories some of your favorites landed in...
Tom Brady is in TIME's "Titans" category. Conan O'Brien wrote this about our hometown team's QB, "Tom Brady all but wrote his own tribute when he won his fifth Super Bowl ring and became the greatest quarterback of all time. Even the most virulent haters have no answer for that stroke-inducing overtime win over Atlanta. The mic was dropped." Read more here.
Alicia Keys is a member of the most influential "Artists" category. Kerry Washington spoke about Alicia for TIME: "We are drawn to her honesty, we respect and adore her, and in doing so, we move closer to embracing our own true selves. In the entertainment industry, there is intense pressure to conform in order to create an easily marketable product. But if you listen to Alicia's music, learn about her Keep a Child Alive foundation or witness her life, you know that she is not a product of anyone but God, her family and her truth." Chance the Rapper landed on "TIME's 100 Most Influential" list in the "Pioneers" category. Common wrote his TIME salute and talked about how he had unknowingly given Chance words of encouragement years earlier. He described Chance the Rapper's accomplishments with these words: "Chance upends expectations about what artists, especially hip-hop artists, can do... He makes music from an unapologetically inspiring and Christian perspective—music that transcends age, race and gender. He gives back to his Chicago community. And he does it all as an independent artist, without the support of a label." To read more and to find out how Common encouraged Chance the Rapper, click here.
