GALLERY: The Civil Rights Movement
The Civil Rights Movement is one of the most important pieces in Black History Month to date.
And if there’s anything that’s important to say, it’s that Peaceful Protest does make a difference. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was one of the icons of this movement and organized peaceful marches on society to rally people together and make the cause for equality heard.
The Montgomery Bus Boycott, the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, and all the marches on Selma were impactful to the movements that are still discussed, used, and celebrated today.
Take a look at some of the marches below, and be sure to educate yourself further on each of these important moments in history by doing further research. The biggest mistake this world can make is continuing to let injustice just waiver in the wind.
