Beyonce’s Dad Says Her Skin Tone Made Her More Successful

Matthew Knowles is promoting his new book “Racism From the Eyes of a Child” and in a recent interview says Beyonce may not be as successful as she is if her skin was darker. Speaking on race in the music business, he says “When it comes to Black females, who are the people who get their music played on pop radio? Mariah Carey, Rihanna, the female rapper Nicki Minaj and my kids.”
He also admitted he thought Beyonce’s mom Tina was white when they first met.
