On Monday, 8 Philadelphia students received scholarships from the partnership of Hart, The United Negro College Fund and the Knowledge Is Power Program or KIPP.
A total of 18 students will get scholarships from the program. The young people were part of the KIPP public schools network in 8 different cities. Hart has contributed $600,000 to the cause.
The scholarships will cover tuition at one of 11 HBCU's and students can get other awards based on need. What scholarship/grant helped you make it through college? Are you a part of any organization that helps out future students with scholarships?
