Oprah Winfrey’s Mother Passes Away at 83

TMZ has just confirmed her passing. Some sad news to report… Vernita Lee, Oprah’s mother, was 83-years-old when she passed away. The news was reportedly confirmed by Oprah’s niece, Alisha Hayes.

Vernita is said to have passed on Thanksgiving. Oprah has often told the story of being raised by her maternal grandmother until the age of 6. Then, she moved to Milwaukee to live with her mother.
