Beware Of This Gift Card Scam
Authorities are warning people not to fall for a new phone scam involving gift cards.

It's a new wrinkle on an old scam that preys on the elderly - someone calls posing as a grandchild that needs money to stay out of jail. The new version involves having the grandparent buy gift cards to places like Walmart or Best Buy, and read the numbers over the phone. V
Victims are also warned not to answer any questions from suspicious store employees.
The FTC says gift cards cannot be used for bail money or tax debts, and that you should report any suspected scam to the authorities.
