As Abby Smith sat through her principal’s speech to the graduating class at Parkersburg High School in West Virginia, she had a touch of deja vu. Apparently, the message sounded a bit too familiar.

Putting her editing skills to work, Smith created a side-by-side comparison video showing Ken DeMoss delivering his words next to one of Ashton Kutcher at the 2013 Kid’s Choice Awards.

Watching the video, one has to wonder if it was plagiarized from the actor. Several key phrases used are identical.

Plagiarized Grad Speech

Here is my principal, plagiarizing his entire graduation speech.

DeMoss told CNN affiliate WTAP, “I did not get all my ideas from Ashton. Format yes, thoughts and ideas were from my heart.” The network notes, “a Google search of ‘best motivational speech for teens’ shows a video of Kutcher’s speech second in the list.”
