Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” dethroned Mariah Carey’s “One Sweet Day” Billboard Hot 100 record this week and Mariah is totally cool with it!

“Old Town Road” is number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the 17th week, breaking the record of Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day”, which has held the record for spending 16 weeks in the number one position.

Mariah posted this pic of her “passing the torch” with the message: “Sending love & congrats to @LilNasX on breaking one of the longest running records in music history! We’ve been blessed to hold this record with a song that means a great deal to @BoyzIIMen and myself and has touched so many. Keep living your best life!”
