Mary J. Blige And Nas Get Personal In New Interview!
Mary J. talks about her dating status, Nas talks about his divorce and they both talk about the mutual love and respect they have for each other’s talent in this “New York Post” interview.
Mary J. Blige told the New York Post that the first time she met Nas, “What I saw is what I actually believed he was. He was one of my favorite rappers at the time, and it was nice to meet someone that you love, and they’re what you want them to be.”
Nas said of their first encounter, “She was, like, everything you expected, but when you meet people, you never know if they’re in your life for a season or a reason or a lifetime.” Nas gave her the ultimate compliment in this interview: “She’s one of one … a treasure.” He continued, “It’s just [been] a great friendship through the years. Every time I would see her, it was always love.”
Mary J. and Nas also discussed their personal lives. Both have gone through very public divorces. In case you’re wondering if Mary has moved on to a new love interest, she has not. “I’m not dating at all. I’m not dating by choice. I’m just focused, man. I got things to do. I’m trying to just continue to build and build and structure so that when I do turn 50, things can be different. I don’t have to make the same mistakes over and over again. I don’t have to suffer the way I’ve done.”
Nas spoke about his divorce and said, “I’ve been through a whole lot, and no one really gave me advice on how to deal with what I was going through with a broken family. I’m optimistic that things will get better. Certain things just have to develop into a better place. But I got love for my ex-wife.”
