Music News

Today marks 18 years since the terrorist attacks that took place in New York City on September 11, 2001. Just weeks later, on October 20, some of the biggest stars in music gathered at Madison Square Garden for The Concert For New York City. Paul McCartney, Jay-Z, the Backstreet Boys, Billy Joel and Elton John were on the bill, as was Destiny’s Child.

Destiny’s Child’s show-stopping performance included  “Emotion” and “Survivor” from their 2001 album Survivor, alongside their “Gospel Medley” from the same album. A few weeks later, Michael Jackson hosted another concert, called United We Stand, which also featured Destiny’s Child.

Today, we’re sharing a clip from the latter televised event of Destiny’s Child singing “Emotion” to honor the victims of 9/11 and their families. Below, take a look.
