Now we know Rihanna turned down performing in the Superbowl halftime show because she “couldn’t dare do that” to Colin Kaepernick.  In a new interview with Vogue magazine, which coincidentally was done BEFORE Jay Z made his announcement about his partnership with the NFL, Rihanna said she refused to perform because “Who gains from that? Not my people. I just couldn’t be a sellout. I couldn’t be an enabler.”  She went on to say there are things within the NFL that she just doesn’t agree with and that she did not wanna be of service to them in any way. Of course now we know Jay Z’s Roc Nation is producing the 2020 halftime show which will feature J Lo and Shakira.  And as for Colin Kaepernick, he’s clearly taken notice — retweeting several posts highlighting Rihanna’s comments.
