I’m a completely different person than I was 20 years ago. I’ve changed jobs, residences, gotten a new pet, changed my hair color about 100 times, owned about 6 cars and countless boyfriends. But one thing has remained consistent. That I could wake up every Sunday between September and some years into February knowing my football team had a good chance to win. And it was all because of the genius of Tom Brady.
With Tom Brady as my football team’s quarterback, you never had to question whether or not he was prepared. He was the epitome of what a leader was supposed to be. He always presented himself with the utmost class and professionalism on and off the field. He was a winner. He single handedly helped my team become a winning organization. And for that, I say THANK YOU!
I get made fun of often from people who don’t understand my love for sports. “It’s just a game” and “Why do you care so much about players, they don’t care about you?”are things I hear often. But my answer is always the same. For me, sports is an escape. When I’m having a rough day I just know I can come home, turn on ESPN and watch highlights. And over the past 20 years Tom Brady made many of those Top 10 lists.
People have asked me in the past 24 hours, will you still root for Tom on another team? I mean, why not?! This man has given me two decades of winning and taken pay cut after pay cut to do it. If there’s one thing Tom Brady deserves from Patriots fans, it’s loyalty. And that’s one thing I’ll always have in my heart...loyalty for TB12.
So thank you Tom. Thanks for the memories, the passion, the competitiveness and the 6 Super Bowl titles. But most importantly, thanks for giving my team and myself 20 years of pure heart.
Oh and to answer the question of “Will i still support Tom Brady?” Make no mistake about it. I love sports. I love football. I love Tom Brady. I’ll support him anywhere he goes. But if his team is playing the Patriots, I hope he throws 6 picks.
