If you’re looking for a new book to read while you’re staying home and practicing social distancing, Alicia Keys is revealing her personal struggles in “More Myself.”
Alicia Keys is revealing a lot of personal details about her life in her new book, “More Myself,” that will be released on March 31st.
People magazine shared some emotional excerpts from the book which will appear in this week’s issue of the magazine.
In this one, Alicia talks about her extremely uncomfortable experience at one of her first photo shoots:
“‘Open up your shirt a little,’ [the photographer] directs while firing off a flurry of snaps. My spirit is screaming that something is wrong, that this feels slimy. ‘Pull the top of your jeans down a bit in the front,’ he urges. I swallow my misgivings, tuck my thumb between the denim and my skin, and obey. On the day of the cover’s debut, I pass a newsstand where the magazine is on display. I almost throw up.”
You can check out Alicia talking about her childhood, her “misbehaving” in her teenage years and more here.
I’m a huge Alicia Keys fan, so I’ve already pre-ordered a hardcover copy of “More Myself” and I can’t wait for it to be delivered!
The link below has all the options for ordering Alicia’s new book, which includes e-book options and even an audio book option. I HOPE that SHE is narrating the audio book… I will definitely buy that too if she does! I love listening to authors reading their own audio books!
In the meantime, since she’s had to postpone her tour and the release of her new album because of the coronavirus crisis, she’s going to give us the remix to her latest song, “Underdog” tomorrow! I love the vibe in her sneak peek, so I’ll be looking forward to checking that out tomorrow.
She mentioned in the caption of this post: “Vibesss coming your way Midnight 3/27 @Chronixxmusic @Protoje
(I wanted to note that this footage is from February and to remind everyone to practice social distancing. Stay safe!)”
