Police are Cracking Down on Speeding During the Pandemic
If you think that just because there’s no one on the roads that means you can speed and it’s okay…think again! Wellesley Police Chief Jack Pilecki says speeding has become a BIG problem and that “Everybody’s stepping on the gas instead of the brake.” “Last week I had an officer write two speeding tickets within an hour of each other,” Pilecki said. “It was the middle of the day. One was for 92 miles an hour and the next one was for 87 miles an hour.”
State police say they’ve stepped up their speeding patrols and have issued over 100 citations in the past 4 days.
Bottom line, SLOW DOWN!
