Jay-Z advertised his 2003 album 'The Black Album' as his final LP before retiring and threw a massive "retirement party" concert at Madison Square Garden on November 25, 2003. He has since released five additional studio albums.

Jay Z, Roc Nation and more are doing their part in honoring George Floyd. He took out a full page ad in multiple newspapers yesterday like New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune. The ad quotes a passage from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s 1965 address in Selma, Alabama saying “Only way we can really achieve freedom is to somehow hunker the fear of death. But if a man has not discovered something that he will die for, he isn’t fit to live.” The ad was signed by Jay Z, the parents of Botham Jean, DJ Henry and Antwon Rose II, young black men all tragically killed by police, as well as Van Jones, Charlamagne tha God, Angela Rye, an attorney for the Floyd family, and several activists from organizations like The Innocence Project and Until Freedom.
