And here we go: Staff changes made at ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’
Ellen has been catching a lot of heat for a couple months now since there’s been multiple reports of a toxic working environment on the set of her show. Former guests and employees have come forward with stories of racial insensitivity, sexual misconduct and other problems and Ellen herself had vowed to make some major changes and to make things right moving forward. Well yesterday we saw the first of those changes as Ellen had a video conference staff meeting where she announced the firing of the show’s 3 senior producers. Ed Glavin and Kevin Leman and co-executive producer Jonathan Norman have all been given the boot. This comes after a July 30 Buzzfeed story that documented allegations of misconduct, harassment and questionable behavior on the set of the show at the hand of said producers. Reps for Warner Bros. had no comment but word is Ellen was very emotional during the call saying that what she read about her show broke her heart. Staffers were also told that the show has pushed back its 18th season debut by a week, to Sept. 14.
