Kim Kardashian’s attempt to pardon a convicted killer failed as Brandon Bernard was executed by lethal injection last night in Indiana. The story’s been in the spotlight this week mostly because of Kim’s involvement and trying to save him. Bernard was 18 in 1999 when he was involved in the brutal kidnapping and killing of Todd and Stacie Bagley. While Bernard was not the trigger man, he put the victim's bodies in the trunk of a car and set it on fire. But lately, a lot of people including the jurors AND the prosecutor in his case have come forward saying shouldn’t be executed because he was forced at gunpoint. Bernard’s last words to the family of the people he killed were “I’m sorry. I wish I could take it all back, but I can’t.” And the mother of Todd Bagley said the apology was exactly what she needed to heal. Kim tweeted how she was devastated and that Bernard was positive til the end and that he left this earth feeling supported and loved and at peace. This just has to change: our system is so f**ked up.”
