Eight people were shot to death yesterday at three metro Atlanta massage parlors, raising fears that the crimes may have targeted people of Asian descent. Six of the people killed were Asian. A suspect in the shootings was taken into custody 150 miles away after a manhunt. While it’s not clear the shootings were racially motivated, the Stop AAPI Hate organization, called this an unspeakable tragedy for both the victims’ families and an Asian-American community that has been reeling from high levels of racist attacks. Get more info on this story HERE.

While it has not been confirmed by authorities that this was racially motivated, it is another incident further traumatizing the Asian American community. More attention need to be given to the violence and hate against Asian people, and more needs to be done to protect them. Many of the victims of violence against Asian people are elderly.

Here is a Twitter thread to follow to help you educate yourself about the issue and to see what you can do to act.

We can not be silent about this.
