Fans of Bridgerton are still getting over the fact that the show’s star, Rege-Jean Page aka the Duke of Hastings will not be returning for season 2 of the Netflix show. Now we may have a better understanding as to why. Word is, he didn’t like what the producers had planned for his character. According to a source he had “creative differences with [executive producer] Shonda Rhimes and her team” and “wasn’t happy with what was planned for his character for Season 2, which would have kept him a player but not the focal point of the show.”  Plus he had been inundated with offers for “interesting and challenging leading roles.” The source says despite the creative differences, Rege-Jean is leaving on good terms. His next gig will be starring in the upcoming “Dungeons and Dragons” movie. Meanwhile Bridgerton season 2 is currently filming, no word on when it’ll be released.
