In two weeks “Grey’s Anatomy” will say farewell to Dr. Jackson Avery.
STOP! THERE ARE SPOILERS AHEAD ABOUT LAST NIGHT’S EPISODE (May 6th) OF “GREY’S ANATOMY!” IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED THE EPISODE YET, COME BACK AND FINISH READING THIS AFTER YOU DO!
Jesse Williams has been on “Grey’s Anatomy” for 12 seasons playing Dr. Jackson Avery. I remember first seeing him in the throwback movie, “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.”
On last night’s episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” everyone was excited for the return of April Kepner, played by Sarah Drew, and the “Japril” storyline of Jackson and April and their daughter Harriett. Jackson took a trip first (the 11 hour GPS ride) to see his father Robert, played by Eric Roberts. We also found out surprising news about April’s relationship with her husband Matthew. By the end of the episode, you could guess that we would be saying goodbye to Jackson soon.
Jesse Williams said in a statement to Deadline: “I will forever be grateful for the boundless opportunities provided me by Shonda, the network, studio, fellow castmates, our incredible crew, Krista, Ellen and Debbie. As an actor, director and person, I have been obscenely lucky to learn so much from so many and I thank our beautiful fans, who breathe so much energy and appreciation into our shared worlds. The experience and endurance born of creating nearly 300 hours of leading global television is a gift I’ll carry always. I am immensely proud of our work, our impact and to be moving forward with so many tools, opportunities, allies and dear friends.”
