Alicia Keys has an interesting challenge for you that involves getting naked… for yourself!
I think I would have a hard time doing this because of my mastectomy and reconstructive surgery scars. But, I think that’s the point of this exercise… to stop being uncomfortable with your body and its flaws and embracing them!
In the caption for Alicia’s video, she writes: “This is going to blow your mind! Are u ready to try something that makes u totally uncomfortable? My love Swizz Beatz always says life begins at the end of your comfort zone. So, I’m inviting ya’ll to try this with me….Tell me how you feel after? There’s so many crazy triggers we have about our bodies and our physical appearance. Loving yourself as you are is a journey! So, so important!! Fill yourself up and #PraiseYourBody Can u see yourself doing this?”
So here are the basics of this exercise that Alicia Keys posted on Instagram…
You need to look at yourself in the mirror, naked, for at least 7 minutes and build your way up to 11 minutes “of completely looking at you and taking in you” every day for at least 21 days.
Obviously, Alicia Keys couldn’t demonstrate the exercise naked on Instagram but she is wearing nude-colored undergarments.
Watch Alicia’s video below and see if this is something that you would be willing to try. I’m not there yet, but might keep an open mind about considering this exercise in the future.
