Rihanna Drops Lawsuit Against Her Father Ronald Fenty
Rihanna is dropping her 2019 lawsuit against her father, Ronald Fenty, who allegedly was misusing the name for his own benefit.
Per Complex, the “Umbrella” singer’s company Roraj Trade LLC and Combermere Entertainment Properties, “filed a stipulation of dismissal of the entire lawsuit on Sept. 7.” The suit had named Fenty Entertainment LLC, a California-based company, as well as Ronald Fenty and his business partner Moses Joktan Perkins. RadarOnline was the first to report the lawsuit had been dropped.
In January of 2019, Rihanna reportedly was suing her father and his business partner for deceiving people to think she was attached to his company. The complaint at the time listed Ronald as trying to make a “fraudulent effort to solicit millions of dollars from unsuspecting third parties in exchange for the false promise that they were authorized to act on Rihanna’s behalf, and/or that Rihanna would perform at various locations throughout the world.”
The beauty mogul also alleged that her father and Perkins attempted to book the entertainer without her permission to perform at different venues back in 2017 for millions. In the lawsuit back in 2019 per RadarOnline, the Fenty Beauty founder stated, “Although Mr. Fenty is Rihanna’s father, he does not have, and never has had, authority to act on Rihanna’s behalf.”
