Woman Suing Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty Says Barbz Sent Threats After Interview
Jennifer Hough, the woman who is suing Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty for “intentional infliction of emotional distress, harassment, and witness intimidation” says Nicki’s fanbase –known as the “Barbz” — have threatened her online for speaking on The Real earlier this week.
Screenshots of the DMs have been posted by HollywoodUnlocked claiming that Hough is just “clout chasing” and is a “thief” trying to steal Nicki and Kenneth’s money among other hurtful messages including a threat on her life.
Tyrone Blackburn, Hough’s attorney, told TMZ, that the threats immediately started after her interview with the hosts of The Real. Blackburn also noted that on top of the inflammatory DMs there is a tweet where someone has shared Hough’s personal contact information.
Blackburn says that these threats from Nicki’s fans only reinforce the fact that what Hough expressed in the interview resembles how her life has been living in constant fear for years. He says Hough has had to change her phone number, quit jobs, and move all because of her connection to Petty.
As we previously reported, Hough was the victim of Petty’s 1995 conviction of first-degree attempted rape that landed him in prison for four and a half years.
On the positive side, Blackburn says that Hough’s interview has inspired women to speak up and has reached out to offer comfort and support. Over 30 women have thanked Hough for her bravery.
