New $5 Ferry Service Begins Between East Boston and Seaport

As of Monday, a new ferry service has begun trips between East Boston and Seaport.

The ferry trip is between Lewis Mall Wharf in East Boston and Fan Pier in the Seaport. The trip costs $5 and tickets can be purchased through the Boston Seaport Ferry app. The trips run every 20 minutes for four hours in the morning and afternoon on weekdays.

"The boat drops me off within a stone's throw of the office, so that's nice," said Ian McEmber, who was onboard the ferry for one of its first trips.
