SAN FRANCISCO, CA – NOVEMBER 03: A McRib is seen at a McDonald’s restaurant on November 3, 2010 in San Francisco, California. The sandwich arrived on the menu for the first time since 1994 and is offered at all McDonald’s nationwide for a limited time until December 5, 2010. The McRib was first introduced in 1981. Starting TODAY, the McRib is back at McDonald's locations nationwide . . . for a limited time. It's actually the 40th anniversary of the McRib. It first debuted in 1981, and it was a huge flop. (It was ahead of their time.)
McDonald's is also releasing a McRib NFT, which is a "non-fungible token" where you can "own" an exclusive digital representation of the McRib. If you're still hazy on what NFTs are . . . join the club. (Just ask that "NFT friend" we all have.)
They're releasing 10 NFTs, but they aren't auctioning them off . . . they're giving them away on Twitter, beginning today.
