Drake Faces $4 Billion Lawsuit From Woman Who Broke Into His House
Drake, born Aubrey Graham, is facing a $4 billion lawsuit from a woman that broke into his home back in 2017.
According to documents obtained by Radar Online, Mesha Collins, the woman who broke into the rapper’s home in 2017, is suing the rapper for defamation. Collins is accusing the “Certified Loverboy” of using her name and likeness in his music, social media, and product endorsements; Drake’s attorneys argue Collins claims are “pure fiction.”
Drake’s lawyers are stating that the rapper only knew of Collins because of the break-in that occurred in 2017. The rapper’s legal team argues, “after trespassing at his home and being arrested in 2017” Collins now “attempts to make contact with” Drake “by suing him.”
They added, “He never knew the identity of the person who had broken into his home in 2017, had never met Collins or communicated with her (or her friends), and was therefore wholly unaware of her existence (or her name, nickname, and likeness) or where she lived.”
After the incident, Drake filed a declaration under oath, “In April 2017, somebody broke into my Los Angeles home when I was not there. At the time of that incident, I was not told any details about the trespasser, including her name.”
Adding, “I understand that Plaintiff Mesha Collins (“Plaintiff”) filed a lawsuit against me in August 2021. When this lawsuit was filed and served on me, I learned that Plaintiff is the same person who broke into my house in Los Angeles in April 2017. I have never mentioned or even referred to Plaintiff (by her name, nickname, image/likeness, or otherwise) in any of my music, Instagram posts, or in connection with any products or services that I have endorsed.”
Per HotNewHipHop, Collins is representing herself so when Drake’s attorneys called Collins it took her by surprise and she reportedly “expressed disbelief that counsel for Graham indeed represented Graham. She ended the call by abruptly hanging up after asking counsel for Graham not to contact her again. Attempts to meet and confer are futile.”
Drake’s legal team is asking the court to toss the lawsuit out completely.
