‘Hocus Pocus 2’ Filming on Federal Hill in Providence Friday
Filming continues in for ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ in Providence… and this week, they are taking over Federal Hill.
Production will take place Friday night through Saturday morning on Federal Hill, according to Rick Simone, executive director of the Federal Hill Commerce Association. It will impact several businesses: nine will be closing for the night, and another thirteen are affected at some capacity. Disney is compensating the businesses affected.
In addition, a portion of Atwells Avenue will close Friday night. “The road closure is going to go from Depasquale Avenue up to Sutton Street along Atwells Avenue. Some of those closures will be at different times during the evening but that’s the primary closure space,” said Simone. He also stated that the area has benefited economically from Disney using choosing to film there.
‘Hocus Pocus 2’ began filming in Lincoln, Providence, and Newport in October and is expected to continue through Christmas. The film is set to be released on Disney+ in fall 2022, but there has been no official premiere date set just yet. See photos from the set below!
If you're dining on Federal Hill this weekend, be on the lookout for the Sanderson Sisters! @levine_on_scene reports that the "witches will fly" over parts of Atwells Avenue Friday and Saturday, which will impact several businesses. https://t.co/vm1aWkbMy5
