Kanye West is slated to headline the 2022 Coachella festival for the Sunday night slot, according to Variety. As of press time, the festival hasn’t made any announcements about the lineup. But according to reports, Billie Eilish on Saturday and Swedish House Mafia would be Friday.
Ye, Billie, and SHM are not newcomers when it comes to performing at the Indio festival. Ye headlined in 2011, Billie performed in 2019, and SHM performed in 2012.
The festival has been postponed over the last two years due to COVID-19 and although the festival is already sold out for the April 15-17 and April 22-24 weekends, but new COVID surges could potentially delay the festival once again.
Previously, for the 2020 festival lineup, Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, and Rage Against the Machine were tapped in to headline the event. Scott was removed from the bill due to the tragedy at Astroworld that occurred in November, Ocean moved his appearance to 2023, and Rage is removed from the lineup per TMZ.
