Whoopi Goldberg Trends After Saying The Holocaust Was “Not About Race”
Whoopi Goldberg sparked outrage from fans after her comments saying the Holocaust was “not about race” on Monday’s (Jan. 31) episode on The View.
Whoopi who is the moderator for the daytime talk show, began the conversation amongst the cohosts after a Tennessee school district decided to ban Maus, a graphic novel that depicts the horrors of the Holocaust.
During the roundtable discussion, it turned into the cohosts speaking on how some school districts have decided that certain parts of the nation’s history centered around race and racism will be buried in the curriculum, or not addressed at all.

Goldberg responded: “If you’re going to do this, then let’s be truthful about it because the Holocaust isn’t about race.”
She added, that the Holocaust was about “man’s inhumanity to man” and said it involved “two White groups of people.”
Later, Goldberg issued an apology on Twitter:
