Chris Rock WON’T press charges against Will Smith, Academy releases statement “doesn’t condone violence”

By now you’ve at least heard about the slap heard around the world. Now we know what consequences, if any, Will will face. The LAPD says Chris Rock has declined to press any charges. This means the LAPD will not investigate or pursue possible charges against Smith. The Academy has also released a statement in regards to the incident. According to a tweet: “The Academy does not condone violence of any form. Tonight we are delighted to celebrate our 94th Academy Awards winners, who deserve this moment of recognition from their peers and movie lovers around the world.”
