INGLEWOOD, CA - AUGUST 27: Kendrick Lamar attends the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards at The Forum on August 27, 2017 in Inglewood, California.

Kendrick Lamar’s hiatus felt long, but it was well worth the wait when he dropped his fifth studio album Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers on May 13, 2022. One of the more polarizing tracks from the album was the Alchemist-produced “We Cry Together” featuring Taylour Paige. Late last month Paige teased what was originally thought to be a music video for the emotional track depicting the inner workings of a toxic relationship but has now been confirmed that Lamar will be giving the song a short film instead.

Paige posted a photo of the sign at the Laemmle Royal Theater in L.A. reading, “Taylour Paige, Kendrick Lamar, We Cry Together, Short Film.”

According to Laemmle.com, the film has been billed as, “A performance from Taylour Paige and Kendrick Lamar, ‘We Cry Together,’” and will make its debut on Thursday (June 9).
