Manny Ramirez returned to Fenway last night and reunited with Big Papi and we can’t help but reminisce when those two are together at Fenway!
Manny Ramirez and Big Papi were back on the field together at Fenway last night (Monday, June 20th) and it made me smile! David Ortiz handed over Manny’s Red Sox Hall of Fame plaque that was awarded in his honor without him at the ceremony last month. According to NESN, Manny didn’t attend the ceremony on May 26th “due to a scheduling conflict.” If you recall, Pedro Martinez stole the show at the Red Sox Hall of Fame ceremony in Manny’s absence. You can watch Pedro’s antics here.
That’s okay, because it only made Manny’s return to Fenway last night even more memorable. Big Papi was on hand to present Manny with his Hall Of Fame plaque and then put on a glove and headed to home plate while Manny took the mound and threw out the ceremonial first pitch! You can check that out in NESN’s Twitter video below.
We aren’t the only ones reminiscing when former beloved Red Sox players like Manny and Big Papi return to Fenway. Manny expressed the same sentiment in the video, “…We like a big family, you know, every time we get together, you know, we reminisce and remember all the good things that we did.”
