Young Thug Given October 2023 Court Date In $6M AEG Lawsuit

Amid Young Thug's (born Jeffery Williams) ongoing RICO case, the Atlanta rapper has been hit with another lawsuit.

According to AllHipHop, concert promotion company AEG is seeking the return of a $5 million advance for the exclusive rights to all of Young Thug’s concerts. The live-entertainment company claims that, although they had the rights to the rapper's concerts, he allegedly was still booking shows on the side.

“Despite having granted AEG the exclusive right to promote Mr. Williams’ concert performances under the terms of the 2017 Artist Agreement, YSL and Mr. Williams immediately failed and refused to honor their respective obligations under the 2017 Artist Agreement by, among other things, disregarding AEG’s rights, performing concerts without AEG’s involvement, and retaining all proceeds generated therefrom,” AEG’s lawyer, Kathleen Jorrie explained.

AEG then hit Young Thug with a lawsuit wanting the $5 million returned, plus interest; they are seeking at least $6 million in damages, which includes the interest on the advance, the rights to YSL and the name Young Thug, and attorney fees.

Young Thug and AEG were set to have a court date on October 22, 2022 but since the rapper is in an ongoing legal battle due to his YSL RICO case, the court date has been pushed further. According to court documents obtained by the outlet, Thug and AEG will face off in court on October 24, 2023.
