Tom Brady’s Season Is Over, But Are The Cleats Coming Off?
Tom Brady’s season ended last night when his Buccaneers were roped by the Dallas Cowboys 31-14. After the game, Brady spoke briefly. Was it a goodbye to football, or a goodbye for now? That’s what everyone is talking about today. But take a look at Brady’s own words and see what you think:
“I just want to say thank you guys for everything this year. I really appreciate all your effort. And I know it’s hard for you guys, too. It’s hard for us players to make it through, and you guys got a tough job. And I appreciate all that you guys do to cover us and everyone who watches and [is] a big fan of the sport. We’re very grateful for everyone’s support. And, you know, hopefully, you know, I love this organization. It’s a great place to be. I love everyone for welcoming me, all you regulars. And just very grateful for the respect, and I hope I gave the same thing back to you guys. So thank you very much.”
Sure sounds like a goodbye. But when asked what’s next, #12 simply said, “I’m gonna go home and get a good night’s sleep.” Do you think he actually did?
“I’m gonna go home and get a good night’s sleep. … One day at a time.”

It seems unimaginable that this is the way the “greatest of all time” will ride off. But what’s next is really anybody’s guess. As yahoosports.com pointed out: “And yet, even at 45, in a season when he posted the worst record of his entire 23-year career, he still managed to throw and complete more passes than any other quarterback in the league — more than even he ever had in a single season.”
The future is wide open for TB. Many are speculating a move to Vegas, or Miami, Tennessee, or even the broadcast booth. All we know for now is that he’s headed home to spend time with this kids and take it “one day at a time, ” as he told reporters. Oh, and there is the movie coming out February 3!
