Jay-Z’s Alleged Son Takes Paternity Test Fight To Supreme Court
Jay-Z is the father to his and Beyonce’s children Blue Ivy and twins Sir and Rumi. Now, Rymir Satterthwaite, who claims to be Hova’s oldest child, has filed a motion to the Supreme Court for the rapper to take a paternity test.
Satterthwaite has been trying to have Jay recognize him as his child for decades and in an interview published Monday (May 8) in The Daily Mail, Satterthwaite is asking for “justice [to be] served.” Additionally, Satterthwaite wants court documents that have been sealed to be open so that he can pursue a case against Jay-Z.
“This is not going to be over until justice is served,” he told the outlet. “I just want to live my life and, when it is all said and done, I hope that JAY-Z would want to be a part of my life, if that is God’s will.”
He added: “I won’t stop fighting for this until I win. And I will win because the law is on our side.”
This ordeal started with Satterthwaite’s mother Wanda, who has since passed away. She claimed that she had sex with Jay-Z in the 1990s. During that time she was in an on-again-off-again relationship with her high school sweetheart. At the time Wanda was 16 and Jay-Z was 22. The alleged short-lived relationship between Wanda and Jay had ended prior to Rymir’s birth in July of 1993 which is why Wanda put her high school sweetheart Robert Graves on the birth certificate as Rymir’s biological dad. However, Rymir decided to go for Jay after learning that the DNA testing from Graves conclusively proved that he was not his biological father. Graves’ name was then removed from Rymir’s birth certificate by the court and has remained blank ever since. At the time of Rymir’s conception, Wanda claimed that she only had sex with two men, Graves and Jay-Z.
Rymir petitioned Jay’s attorney to submit to DNA testing, but Hova allegedly never complied with the request. He noted that he just wants recognition from Jay and not money from the billionaire.
“This never about money for me,” Rymir said at the time. “My whole thing was just to see who my father was and honestly I get my own money. I work two jobs, I take care of my own business.”
However, Jay’s attorneys denied Rymir’s claims. “The allegations have been previously reviewed thoroughly by the courts and have been refuted,” they stated in a letter to the outlet. “I am sure that will be the outcome of whatever filings Mr. Satterthwaite may be currently considering.”
