When the Powerball drawing reaches a certain amount, we all get excited for the possibilities of winning that much money. We buy tons of tickets with the hopes of becoming the world's next billionaire. However, when the prize is claimed, we forget and move onto the next. Very rarely do we ever hear from the winner better yet check back in to see what types of purchases they've made. Well,  the sole winner of the $2.04 billion Powerball drawing in November 2022, Edwin Castro's life has become a lot less stressful.

Edwin won the gigantic jackpot back in November after matching the numbers 10-33-41-47-56 and the Powerball 10.  He chose a one-time, lump sum payment of close to $1 billion on Valentine's Day of 2023. It then took Edwin only two weeks to make his first purchase.  He bought a $25.5 million estate in Hollywood Hills on March 1.  This is probably what anyone would expect to do with a lottery winning that big. The house is a 13,500-square-foot mansion and sits on a 0.58-acre lot and features five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, game room, wine cellar, movie theater, bar, spa and fitness studio. But that wasn't all he purchased. Castro also bought a $4 million mansion in his home town of  Altadena. Then there is the car. Castro purchased a vintage white Porsche for $250,000. Then, his very next purchase was to hire his own security team. All of these purchases seem very smart and thought out. Prior to Castro winning, he was living in a one bedroom home.

Another story no one knows is that Castro was actually sued by a man who claimed the winning ticket was stolen from him. Regardless, Castro got his money and is living very large. Use this as a lesson for when you purchase your Mega Millions tickets tonight. Good luck to you!

Mega Millions – Try One Of These Winning Massachusetts Stores

The Powerball jackpot is approximately $1 Billion for Wednesday night's jackpot. When the jackpots get this high, many people start to think about what they'd do with that much money. Many say they'd go on vacation, quit their job, buy a house and cars. There are also a larger pool of people who buy tickets because many say they don't buy them until the jackpot gets this high. Regardless, for those of us who live in Massachusetts, there are a certain number of stores that are considered more lucky than others.

Now, we aren't saying these particular stores will strike gold again. Although, if they sell winning tickets more than once, there has to be something to that right? What are the actual odds of one store selling super big jackpots multiple times? Either way, we did the research for you and figure if we can help you get a leg up on this next Powerball drawing, we will. And as always, we'll never ask you for a cut of your winnings (haha).

So before you decide which store you'd like to buy your Powerball ticket for Wednesday's drawing, why not sit and really think about what you'd do with a billion dollars. Would you take the lump sum?
