Starring in the film is Lakeith Stanfield, James McAvoy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Omar Sy, David Oyelowo, Teyana Taylor, and more. According to IMDB, the film’s plot is: “A down-on-his-luck Jerusalemite embarks on a misguided attempt to capitalize on the rise of celebrity and influence the Messiah for his own personal gain. The journey leads him on an exploration of faith and an unexpected path.”
Jay executive produced the film alongside British filmmaker Jeymes Samuel. The two previously worked together in the 2021 film The Harder They Fall which was Samuel’s directorial debut. In addition, Jay is also contributing to The Book of Clarence‘s soundtrack with new music, according to Vanity Fair. For The Harder They Fall, Hov contributed two original songs on the film’s soundtrack with collaborations with other artists. Hov is concerned that viewers could pass judgment on the theme of his latest project. The Brooklyn native doesn’t want the audience to “immediately just focus on the religious aspect of it and not the human story,” he told the publication.
He added: “My fear is that people don’t allow that arc to take place, and are immediately judging.”
Jay-Z joined Instagram under the handle @jayz in 2021 in promotion of The Harder They Fall and only follows his wife Beyoncé. She follows no one on Instagram. Hov ended up deactivating his account in less than 24 hours after he created it in 2021.
