Tory Lanez Shares Voice Message From Prison
Tory Lanez is speaking out from behind bars. The “Say It” rapper, who was sentenced
to ten years in prison over the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, posted on Instagram for the first time since his court appearance.
“Ayo Umbrellas, what’s good, I’m talking to you live from prison right now,” he said. “Man. I’m just happy to get out of that county jail. They was hating on a young fly, you heard? Had me on 24-hour lockdown. Half-sized cell by myself. No windows, no mirrors. Ain’t even seen himself in a whole year, yo.”
He continued: “But with all them disadvantages against me, my head is always been held high, man. And I want y’all to know that I’m in great spirits.”
This won’t be the last time fans hear from Lanez as he also promised to drop some new music. Specifically, a deluxe edition of his 2021 album Alone At Prom. This would be the first time the rapper has released new music since his conviction in December 2022.
The last time Lanez spoke out was back in August when he stood on his belief that he did not commit the shooting and that he does not belong in prison.
“In no way shape or form was I apologizing for the charges I’m being wrongfully convicted of,” Lanez wrote on Instagram at the time. “I remain on the stance that I refuse to apologize for something that I did not do. I’ve faced adversity my whole life and every time it looked like I would lose, I came out on top. This is nothing but another moment where my back is against the wall and I refuse to stop fighting till I come out victorious. Tough times don’t last, tough people do. To my family, friends, and umbrellas thank you for your continued support. See you soon.”
