Waltham & Plymouth Sell Big Winning Powerball Tickets, $1.77 Billion Ticket Sold in California

It's all over! There was one Powerball jackpot winner in last night's drawing. But unfortunately, that winning ticket was not sold in Massachusetts. In fact, it wasn't even sold on the east coast.  The ONE winning ticket was sold in California. But all hope is not lost if you bought a ticket in Massachusetts. There were thousands of winners here. The winners were not of the big prize BUT there were 2 $50,000 Waltham at Waltham Fuel and the other was in Plymouth at Manomet Liquors.  winners. They won the $50,000 by matching 4 numbers plus the Powerball number. The winning numbers were: 22, 24, 40, 52, 64, and the red Powerball 10.

According to a press release from Powerball: Last night's drawing was the SECOND largest in the American lottery history.  There had been no grand prize winner since July 19, when a single ticket sold in California won a jackpot worth $1.08 billion.  That amount of money is nothing to sneeze at. Last night's jackpot winner has a choice of a cash pay out of well over $700 million.  The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.  Most people choose the lump sum payout to ensure they get all of their money while they’re still here. Smart move.
