Trina is standing by what she said. The "Nann N----" rapper recently was under  fire for crowning Beyoncé as the "Queen of Rap" when she is known as a singer, not a rapper.

Earlier this week she was interviewed by HipHopDX; during the interview, they asked Trina about how female rappers have been taken over in recent years. The Miami rapper mentioned Beyoncé in the conversation as a source of inspiration when she raps on her songs.

"Yeah, Beyoncé ‘cause she's like the number one female rapper when she does rap," Trina said. "It's just one of those things like, of course, this is the Queen's Beyoncé, but when you hear her do a song and it's rapping involved, it's like, 'Oh my God,' like it just, it's more inspiration and, um, I don't know it's just a good thing, man," she continued.

Fans React To Trina Crowning Beyoncé The Queen Of Rap

After Trina's comments, fans had a debate on whether Beyoncé is influential in the rap space.

"The funny part about that Trina interview is not the Beyoncé opening doors comment it’s the fact that Trina has been in the game for 20+ years and couldn’t even say her own name," one fan wrote.

"Trina said Beyonce opened doors for FEMALE RAP?! This the same disrespect that make Nicki act the way she do.," another fan wrote referring to Nicki Minaj.

"Attacking Beyoncé over something that Trina said is insane," a fan wrote after the personal hate Beyoncé has gotten for Trina's comment. "All this tells me is that y’all hate that Beyoncé is revered by artists in music. The praise and credit she gets from her peers will never stop either, so y’all just gonna be upset forever"

Trina Defends Her Comments About Beyoncé

Trina hopped on Instagram Live to double down on her comments about Beyoncé. She also posted onto her Instagram Story what she said in the video.

"For the dusty crusty funky bitches in the bacccckkkk [loudly speaking emoji] Beyoncé is the queen of rap (when she raps) and ALL other genres of music," she wrote. Now stay mad goofy's I said what I said and NANN b***h gone check me. [middle finger emoji] Carry on [hot face emoji]."
