Is this real life? Is there really a new place opening in our fair city that is offering something truly unique? A Boston cat cafe? Yes, it's coming and soon. So, get in line to count the days until a new Boston cafe opens with books, beverages and cats to cuddle!

I'm not kitten around. This cat cafe happening fur real. (Sorry I can't help myself). Why cats? Well, if you've even had a cat as a pet you know they can be super cuddly. Until they aren't. That being said, it does make these domesticated carnivorous mammals low maintenance pets. You can love them for a few minutes, then they disappear. Purrfection.

Here comes Boston's first cat cafe. You can gather together with a few feline friends at A Sanctuary Cafe in Beacon Hill. There's no specific opening day, their website just says "Now Opening March 2024." The location of this Boston cat cafe is 80 Charles Street.

Spread the Mews!

MassLive helped share the good mews, I mean news. They report that the cafe is the brainchild of Beacon Hill resident Brittany Baker. And it will serve as a "combo coffee shop, cat lounge, and bookstore." Resident kitties will wander about the cafe in search of affection, while you sip on "locally sourced drinks and baked goods, and a curated micro-bookstore." Sounds purrfectly lovely, doesn't it? Apparently, you can also go as far as making a reservation to pet your puddy tat while partaking of warm or cold bevvy and diving into a good read.

Sure, it sounds a little offbeat, but what an interesting experience. I grew up with cats in the yard, house and garage, but my kids and husband wanted nothing to do with them. So, this is perfect for those of us who miss having a feline in the home. You get the benefits without the kitty little.

One more thing, on the website for A Sanctuary Cafe, you'll find they are making a difference for kinds in Boston. They state that for every book purchased from the store, they will, in turn, make a book donation to a Boston Public School student. It's a win-win! Stay tuned for updates on this new Boston cafe opening soon with books, beverages and cats to cuddle.
