If you're a Mary J. Blige fan, you know that love is the main theme in her music, and she is not shy about sharing her good and bad experiences with it. In a recent interview with Today hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, she spoke about her latest single, "Still Believe In Love," and how it rings true to the time in her life now.

"Because I believe in love for myself, I’m not going to give up on love," she told the morning show hosts. "I’m not going to let a bad relationship or a bad marriage stop me from having a good life and having romance and getting the hugs that I want and the desire and kisses."

She added that she deserves a good relationship with her partner and herself.

Mary J. Blige Hints At New Love

Earlier this year, Blige hinted that she has a special someone in her life. In an interview, per Vibe, the singer was asked about the status of her current relationship.

"No, I’m not single. I’m happily doing what I’m doing," the singer replied. She didn't give any more details on who her new boo could be.

The "Real Love" singer said that her latest song, "Still Believe In Love," was created when she had just finalized her divorce. She said that she "needed something different" and "postive" at that point in her life.

“I had to believe in myself […] I say ‘no matter what happens, I’m never gonna give up on me.’ And the timing, the climate for the song was just perfect for right now," she said.

Blige was married to record producer Kendu Isaacs. They got married in 2004 and got divorced after 12 years of marriage. The singer does not have any children.
