Cardi B is giving fans a sassy response to those who speculated she had hidden intentions behind a recent maternity photo shoot. The rapper posted a set of pics on Instagram on Sunday (September 1), showing her cruising on a motorcycle down an unremarkable New York City street. She captioned it with, “Wanna meet my little boo boo soo bad already.”
Eagle-eyed fans quickly spotted something Cardi B and her photographer seemingly missed: the word "pedophile" spray-painted on a wall behind her. With the Barbz on high alert due to Cardi B’s longstanding feud with Nicki Minaj and the sexual assault charges against her husband and brother, many thought she was throwing shade.
But she said that was not her intention.
“First of all, we literally picked a random street because paparazzi were hounding us everywhere… this was supposed to be my original first picture and we had to edit the photos in minutes because the shoot got leaked,” she clapped back on X. “Didn’t even have time to go over every detail because people were busy trying to expose my pregnancy as an ‘aha’ moment… Second, I’m ALWAYS with the s---- but I’m not using MY MATERNITY shoot to be funny. Are you dumb??”
When another critic dismissed her excuse as “bs” and pointed out she had a whole team to catch the supposed blunder, Cardi B was not having it.
“A team?? B---- my makeup artist touched up the picture because we didn’t have time for all that, it says the date and time nobody was paying attention to the graffiti… second, if I wanted to be petty I would’ve posted a lot of memes last week.. I KEEP TELLIN YALL TO LEAVE ME THE FUK ALONE!! If I’m saying I’m not on that time, DON’T MAKE ME GET ON THAT TIME. Unrist yourself!!”
Cardi's fiery exchange with fans followed her and estranged husband Offset reuniting for an airplane-themed party for their son, Wave. Grown-ups enjoyed dishes from chef Franklin Rosario, while the kids munched on MrBeast Burger.
Cardi's decision to file for divorce from Offset (for the second time) was reported by TMZ on August 1. The outlet claimed it wasn’t related to cheating rumors that have haunted their seven-year relationship. A source close to the couple said the filing had been “a long time coming” and Cardi and Offset have simply been drifting apart.
