A woman bought a thrift store purse, and boy did she get an interesting surprise. Lynora went into a Goodwill store and bought the Coach bag that she says was in decent condition for only $6.99. But it was what was inside that surprised Lynora. It was $300, and a note from the previous owner.

The Surprise Inside The Thrift Store Purse

So after Lynora bought the Coach bag at Goodwill for $6.99, she took it home and was looking through it. Well, at the bottom of the bag, she found an envelope. Inside the envelope was not only $300, but a handwritten note. The note which was from a woman named Martha who was the previous owner.

The note said, “I have three children, they will give my things to Goodwill when I die. So, I am putting their inheritance inside all my favorite things.” Martha then said that the bag was special to her because she got it when her husband’s mistress left it at her home in a hurry. She said, “I came home early from a visit to my parents in Connecticut and she must have left her bag and shoes,” she wrote.

She ended it by saying, “I carried this bag every day. I wonder if my husband knew it was his girlfriend’s.  I carried it daily and am giving it away because my kids don’t want it.” Martha also encouraged the person who got the bag to use the money to get a new one. Wow! All this from a thrift store purse!

Here's the video she posted with the bag.

Lynora decided to pay it forward, and when she was donating things at Goodwill she put $100 dollars in the pocket of a pair of jeans saying, “In a world of Karens, be a Martha.”

Here's Lynora's follow-up video.

Of course people loved the story. Here are some of the comments on the video...
