A Massachusetts hotel is hosting a Golden Retriever getaway! If you're a Golden lover this is the perfect event for you!

As a dog owner, traveling can be a bit stressful. You either have to find a way to bring them with you, which means likely having to go somewhere within driving distance or you have to find someone responsible enough to watch your dog. You could trust a friend or a company but it doesn't always end up going well. What if your dog was invited along and was the star of the trip? That's what it sounds like they'd get with this one-of-a-kind Golden Retriever getaway!

Is There A Golden Retriever Getaway In Massachusetts?

People love beaches. You know who else loves beaches? Dogs! It's always a treat to watch them run on the beach and dip into the water. They can have endless fun out there. Now, they have a chance to enjoy a Golden Retriever getaway on Cape Cod!

According to Boston.com, Sea Crest Beach Resort will be hosting their second Golden Getaway on October 18th-20th in North Falmouth with special treats designed for Goldens and their owners. Back in May, they hosted the first event and shared video and pictures on Facebook and it looks adorable. It must have been a success because they're doing it again! The hotel's Chief Experience Officer, Cooper the Golden Retriever, will preside over the festivities which includes a BBQ dinner, Pup Polar Plunge on Old Silver Beach, a Halloween costume contest, a Yappy Hour, and a walk on the scenic Shining Sea Bikeway, per Boston.com. How awesome does that sound?

According to Boston.com, the starting rate at the resort this month is $159 and Golden Getaway travelers do receive a discount which will vary depending on the type of room. You can also enjoy a waved pet fee if you're a part of the Getaway. There will even reportedly be a special amenity for the dog. Cooper is no stranger to these type of events, having previously worked as Chief Happiness Officer at Equinox Resort & Spa in Vermont where they also hosted a Golden Getaway in the summer of 2023. If you're a Golden owner or a Golden lover this could be the perfect little getaway for you and yours! I'd love to have a special trip planned around my dog for my dog. Usually they're just passengers on our trips and they deserve to be the star of the show!

There's something truly special about having a close relationship with your pet. They say a dog is "man's best friend," and it's totally accurate. I have friends and family who truly feel like their pets are a member of the family. Pets will be there for you through thick and thin. Pets are also know for being loyal, which can be a really good feeling in this world. So, what are the most popular dogs right now?

Danspetcare.com has a great article out that names the most popular dogs in the world right now. In it, they describe that special relationship that one has with their pet. "From hunting to sled-pulling to herding and protection, dogs have helped us survive and thrive in countless ways," they explain. "One of the most important roles dogs play in our lives is companionship."

So, what do you do if you're in the market for a new dog? Danspetcare.com has some good advice on how to pick the right breed. They explain that finding the right breed is a big part of that decision. So, ask yourself, do you want a delicate breed or a more meaty, masculine breed? Also, what's the purpose of you wanting a pet? Do you want a pet for protection, or are you looking for a small buddy for some companionship?

Either way, when you're in the market for a new pet, make sure to have lots of questions and ask the right people before settling on your little guy or gal. I remember one of my friends buying the cutest little puppy ever only to see it grow into a huge dog that was almost too big for her apartment. Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
