Beloved Boston Gastropub Plans Possible 2026 Comeback
A popular Boston gastropub that closed several years ago may be planning a future comeback.
Owner Rebecca Roth Gullo, who opened The Gallows in 2010, shared in an Instagram story that The Gallows is planning a rebirth, possibly sometime in 2026. The gastropub’s Instagram bio contains the following statement: “2026-rise from the phoenix? We miss you all.”
For more than a decade, The Gallows served Bostonians comfort food and a diverse selection of beer, wine, and cocktails.
The Boston Restaurant Talk blog confirmed that Gullo did not immediately confirm where The Gallows may reopen. Its former home on Washington Street in Boston’s South End was demolished to accommodate new development.
Gullo’s Gallows Group is the management team behind Boston establishments such as Blackbird Doughnuts, Sally’s Sandwiches, and Banyan Bar & Refuge.
