Boston has officially designated Friday, Oct. 24, as "Jaylen Brown Day." The designation honors the Boston Celtics star's community efforts and achievements, coinciding with his 29th birthday and the start of the NBA season.

"It's official. October 24th is Jaylen Brown Day in Boston," Brown wrote in an Instagram post. "Thank you to [Mayor Michelle Wu] and the council special. Thanks to my brothers, @juicethegod and @_familyfirst_rp, for helping me navigate the city."

Brown's community work with his 7uice Foundation focuses on supporting underserved youth through programs in financial literacy, leadership, and activism.

According to CBS News Boston, after Brown signed his max contract with Boston in July 2023, he promised to launch programs that would make the world a better place. The city's resolution notes that Brown's social activism in the community includes multiple visits to Boston Public Schools and a commitment to launch a Black Wall Street program in Boston.

Brown was named the NBA Finals and Eastern Conference Finals MVP in 2024. He is coming off an average of 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.2 steals per game last season, qualifying him for his fourth All-Star honor, according to an SI.com report.

In its first competition of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 22, the Boston Celtics lost to the Philadelphia 76ers 117-116
