Looking to find somewhere to rent? We've got some good news for you. Don't worry, Boston is the place to search! Some good news for those apartment hunters in some Boston area cities is that prices are decreasing lower and lower, according to a new report.

Where Has Rent Gone Down in the Boston Area?

According to reports, Quincy has seen the largest decline from last year, with rent going down 6.8%. The median price for a one-bedroom apartment is a little more than $2,300 a month.

Next up is the Lowell area of Boston. Rent has gone down 6.4% and dropped another 6.2% in Somerville. Costs are a bit higher than in a lot of communities, with the median rent for a one-bedroom starting at $2,850 a month.

There are a few other cities that have seen the median cost for a one-bedroom change as well. Those areas include Boston, Newton, Melrose, Worcester, New Hampshire, and Manchester.

  • Manchester: $1,700/month
  • Brockton $1,740/month
  • Worcester: $1,760/month
  • Lowell: $1,760/month

Although rent has decreased in cities, there are some that have seen an increase. Cities that have seen an increase in the average rent price include Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Brockton, Medford, Cambridge, and the city of Boston.
