Barstool Sports founder and pizza lover Dave Portnoy has been busy rating pizzas as part of his One Bite Pizza Reviews.
He kicked off his first review of 2026 by visiting the South Shore, where he sampled a slice from Tony's House of Pizza in Quincy. Unlike his previous reviews, Portnoy ate one slice instead of a whole pizza.
According to a MassLive report, Portnoy believes this decision caused “a little bit of a disadvantage,” but he still chose to offer his honest feedback.
“I thought it was going to be worse,” he said in his review after stating the slice was floppy and “very thin.”
Portnoy took a second bite, then pronounced the score: 6.3 out of 10.
Portnoy commented on Tony's extensive menu, remarking, “They quite literally had everything on the menu.” According to the restaurant's website, in addition to pizza, Tony's House of Pizza makes burgers, salads, hot and cold subs, and seafood and pasta dishes.
“It actually felt like they should have roast beef sandwiches,” Portnoy noted.
He also reviewed the nearby Hancock Tavern, which he rated a 7.5 out of 10.
Tony's House of Pizza is at 662 Hancock St., and Hancock Tavern is at 668 Hancock St.
